MIKE HORN: ONE OF THE GREATEST EXPLORERS OF MODERN TIMES
South African–Swiss, Mike Horn has distinguished himself through extreme expeditions completed without engines or external assistance, constantly pushing human limits in the most hostile environments on Earth.
He circumnavigated the globe along the equator without motorized transport, crossed the Arctic Circle by sailboat, bicycle, skis, and on foot, and reached the North Pole in the heart of winter — in total darkness.
He has also summited four peaks above 8,000 meters without supplemental oxygen, before completing another world tour in 2016 by traveling via both the North and South Poles.
These achievements have made him a global reference in resilience, survival, and human adventure.
I had the opportunity to meet Anna and Daniel in 2022 in Lausanne. Having the chance to test many e-bikes of various brands in my daily life, I have always had in the corner of my head the desire to develop my own bike. With Miloo, we have the same DNA for the taste for adventure and entrepreneurship. Anna and Daniel were very open and attentive to my recommendations to offer an e-bike that is out of the ordinary. To challenge the Xplorer Beast and its capabilities, I will not only test it on one of the highest peaks in Switzerland this winter, but I will also embark it on my next expedition, which requires a battery that recharges differently than by electricity.
MARCO ODERMATT: THE KING OF SKIING
Marco Odermatt, born in 1997 and originally from Buochs in the canton of Nidwalden, is today considered one of the greatest alpine skiers of all time.
He burst onto the international scene in 2018 by winning 5 gold medals at the Junior Alpine World Ski Championship - a historic achievement that marked the beginning of an exceptional career.
Since making his World Cup in 2017, Marco has won almost everything there is to win: 3 gold medals at the World Championships, 1 Olympics gold metal and more than 50 World Cup victories. He has also finished as overall World Cup leader for 3 consecutive seasons.
In addition, he has been named Swiss Male Athlete of the Year at the Swiss Sports Awards 3 years in a row since 2022.
A specialist in both technical disciplines (Giant Slalom) and speed events (Super-G and Downhill), Odermatt is renowed for his exceptional versatility, consistency and dominance season after season.
He recently made skiing history by winning the Adelboden Giant Slalom 5 consecutive times - one of the most legendary races on the circuit.
His humility, consistency and rentless pursuit of excellence make him a role model for the next generation of athletes.
With Miloo, we have the same DNA for winning. The Miloo team was very open and attentive to my needs, and came up with an e-bike that reflects my image. To challenge the Adventure Beast, not only will I be testing it on one of Switzerland's highest peaks in the spring after the Alpine Skiing World Cup, but i'll also be taking it on board every day for my travels and training sessions !
OUR STORY: HOW WE ARE REINVENTING COMMUTING
The idea behind Miloo was born in 2018, somewhere between Asia and the West Coast of the United States.
Two continents on opposite sides of the world — yet facing the same mobility nightmare. Two cultures are constantly adapting to overwhelming urban traffic, and therefore two major innovation hubs for the mobility industry.
In Asia, people naturally move around on two wheels without hesitation. In the United States, drivers adjust their schedules just to avoid traffic congestion.
Over 80% of trips worldwide are made within a 20 km radius. So why continue driving a vehicle weighing more than one ton just to transport one person — only to sit in traffic? Why not move in a more ecological way, get some exercise, and enjoy fresh air without stress?
These two questions gave birth to Miloo in 2018.
It was in the middle of traffic jams that Miloo’s two founders imagined a new vision of electric mobility. They asked a simple question to friends — and future customers:
“In an ideal world, how would you like to move faster, with total freedom?”
The answers were unanimous: safety, style, comfort, ease of use, and driving pleasure.
From these needs, the first Beast was born — the very first Miloo electric bike: a premium answer to the challenges of urban micro-mobility.
To this day, every new Miloo model is designed around those same two fundamental questions:
